FAKE LAWYER REGISTERED AN ATTENDED NBA CONFERENCE 2019.
How a fake Lawyer Registered and Attended NBA AGC, had photo with NBA President
A fake lawyer, Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu, has been exposed by Lawyers in Asaba Delta State.
The Fake lawyer who has practiced in both Ekiti State and Delta State escaped from policemen by jumping down from two storeys building, when the security operatives were invited to arrest him.
According to a Facebook post from Asaba Based Lawyer, Samson Okehielem, Mr Eberechukwu not only has a fake lawyers stamp with him but also a fake law degree and call to bar certificate.
The fake lawyers also reigistered and attended the 2019 AGC in Lagos where he had a photo shot with NBA President Paul Usoro.
Below is the post from Mr Okehielem.
THE FAKE AMONG US: THE BASTARDISATION OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION BY QUACKS AND A CALL TO FLUSH THEM OUT OF THE PROFESSION.
The Legal Profession is a noble, honourable and learned profession. In every modern democratic welfare State, the legal profession is a broad concept: It includes not merely the Profession which is practiced in Courts, but also covers law teaching, law research, etc. It has quite a number of parts. The Bench is one, and the Bar is another.
Therefore, any person who aspires to become a member of the legal profession must acquire legal education which is the repository of both academic and professional legal knowledge and skill which makes the
lawyer who he/ she is.
Legal education in Nigeria is in two sectors. There is the University education which leads to the award of a degree in Law. There is also the Law School which is involved in the training of Nigerian lawyers. Whereas the University education provides basic academic education, the Law School provides vocational education of an apprenticeship nature leading to the practice of the Law.
Sequel to the above, to become a member of the legal profession (lawyer) in Nigeria, you must do the following:
A. You must study law at accredited University and
successfully obtain law degree ( LLB).
B. You must have proceeded to the Nigerian Law School for at least one year and successfully passed the Bar examination thereby obtain your BL.
C. You must be called ( admitted) to the Nigerian Bar followed by enrollment in the Supreme Court as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigerian thereby becoming an authomatic member of the Nigerian Bar Association which is a professional Association of lawyers in Nigeria.
If you don’t meet the above-mentioned requirements of becoming a lawyer and you begin to practice law or parade yourself as a lawyer, then you are a fake or quack lawyer. So, when you practice the law as a quack, you are bastardizing and/or inflicting great damage on the Profession.
One Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu is a fake or quack lawyer. He is the person dressed on black suit and black long sleeve ( dressed like a pastor) and the person on the left side hand of Paul Usoro in the picture taken with Paul Usoro.
The said Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu came to Delta State (from Ekiti State) sometime in January 2019, and began to practice law and/or to parade himself as a lawyer. He told us that he was called to the bar in 2012, later he changed it to 2013. We later discovered that his purportedly being called to the Bar in 2012 or 2013 is false, not true.
However, before we discovered that he was a fake lawyer, he was appearing in Courts. He appeared in Both the Federal High Court in Asaba and Warri, both in Delta State. He also appeared in various High Courts and Magistrate’s Courts in Delta State.
In fact, he collected the sum of two hundred and ninty thousand Naira ( N290,000.00) from one Dr. Moses M. Adagbabiri on the ground that he wanted to write a petition to the Department of State Security ( DSS) Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, against Dr. Adagbabiri’s tenant who is a Naval officer and who had refused to vacate the premises.
The said Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu also told Dr. Adagbabiri that he had also petitioned the latter tenant to the Orodje of Okpe, the Chairman of Sapele Bar, The
Nigerian police, zone 5, Benin City, etc and gave Dr Adagbabiri a copy of the supposed petition which has a letter headed paper of ‘R SQUARE LEGAL FIRM’ .
The Said Eberechukwu, in order to also defraud Dr Adagbabiri’s tenant, told the tenant that his Landlord, Dr Adagbabiri, had agreed that the issue be settled. So he fraudulently wrote two terms of settlement: one is titled ‘CONSENSUS ADIDEM’, while the other is titled ‘TERMS OF SETTLEMENT’. And forged the signature of both parties, the landlord and the tenant. This he did without the Consent or Knowledge of Dr. Adagbabiri.
When Dr. Adagbabiri became aware of the fraudulent manipulation perpetuated by Eberechukwu, he briefed P. M. Obiagba, Esq, of P. M. OBIAGBA, ESQ & ASSOCIATES who wrote a petition against him(Eberechukwu) to the police. He was subsequently arrested by the police. At the police station, he insisted that he was a lawyer and that he graduated from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria and that he was called to the Bar in 2013.
Thus, he was released on self recognizance and was asked to proceed to bring his credentials: his LLB CERTIFICATE, CALL CERTIFICATE, ECT. After two weeks he didn’t bring his Certificates. We, the lawyers, decided
to investigate him. We called the authority of Ekiti State University and some law students in Ekiti State University, including some Lawyers whom we knew graduated from Ekiti State University at the same time he(Eberechukwu) claimed to have graduated. All the pieces of information supplied to us by the persons we called were the same: that Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu was not a lawyer though he was a Law student at the aforementioned University , he didn’t graduate as he was expelled from the University as result of having consistent and persistent carry overs.
Armed with the above pieces of information, we called him to produce his credentials at the Law Office of P. M. Obiagba and he told us that he was coming. While waiting for him to come, we invited the police. He finally came to the aforesaid office which is housed by two storey buildings. After we have questioned him, and confirmed that he is a quack or fake lawyer, we asked the police arrest him.
As the police was about to put handcuffs in his hand, he quickly forced himself out the office and jumped down from the aforesaid two storey buildings and ran away.
After he had escaped, we opened the bag he had left
behind, and we saw fake and forged call to Bar certificates, fake Ekiti State LLB Certificate and R SQUARE LEGAL FIRM’ LETTER HEADED PAPER which shows that the Head office of non-existent law firm is at No 28 Adesua Shopping Plaza, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and the Branch offices are in Sapele, Delta State, Mbaise, Imo State and in Lagos State.
We were also informed that he was once arrested in Ekiti State for impersonating to be and/or practicing as a lawyer. He later jumped bail and relocated to Delta State. From our findings, he had been in several states in Nigeria, practising law and and whenever he was caught as a fake lawyer he would escape and relocate to another state.
Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu also acts as a fake Pastor. He told us that he is a pastor at Christ Apostolic Church(CAC) and when we enquired From the Church, the Church told us that it didn’t know him. He had defrauded several ladies of their hard earned money for he had always told them that he would pray for them to get man that would marry or get them pregnant.
Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu also impersonates to be a solder. He claimed to be a legal adviser to the Nigerian
Army and a soldier: we saw solder uniform in his house.
Rechard Ebuka Eberechukwu fraudulently attended the 59th Nigerian Bar Association annual General conference which was held in Lagos this year (2019), where he took pictures with the president of the NBA so as to consolidate the the impression that he was a lawyer. At the NBA conference, he was reported to have bought several goods, especially books, with fake alerts.
The General public, please beware of the person called Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu. I don’t know if he’s Igbo by tribe because he is so fraudulently intelligent (with false intellectual appearance) that he can speak Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Urhobo, Ijaw and Itsekiri languages.
Just like Richard Ebuka Eberechukwu, they are other fake or quack lawyers. What is the NBA doing to detect and flush them out of the legal profession, for they are bastardizing the profession? It seems that the introduction of the stamp and seal has not effectively help the NBA to flush out fake Lawyers.

PRISON WARDEN SLAPS LAWYER...
There was a mild drama at the Osun State High Court, Osogbo, on Tuesday, as a prison warden slapped a lawyer, Mr. Kasiamobi Eze Ngwoke, Blueprint reports.
According to an eye witness, the prison official had slapped one of the inmates who was slow in entering the prison van after the court proceedings.
It was gathered that the lawyer who was apparently not happy with the way the inmate was treated, approached the warden to educate them that the inmate has not been convicted and his personal liberty should be respected.
Eye witness account revealed that the inmate is a client of Mr. Ngwoke.
The prison warden who was said to be unhappy with the manner of approach of the lawyer slapped him and threatened to shoot him.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Modupe Awodele, who was watching the drama from the court summoned the lawyer and the prison officials.
The Magistrate was said to have cautioned the prison officials that they have no right to maltreat or assault an accused, let alone a lawyer.
The Magistrate was said to have directed the lawyer to take appropriate legal action against the prison officials.
Speaking with our correspondent, Ngwoke said, “the prison officials particularly Fakorede A.S., slapped me when I went to them to confirm why they slapped my client.
He said he was already taking action against the prison warden when he was contacted on phone.
Efforts to get reaction of the prison warden proved futile as non of the officials contacted was willing to comment on the issue.

I SLEPT WITH MY BROTHER-IN-LAW THINKING IT WAS MY HUSBAND- WOMAN TELLS COURT.
I slept with my brother-in-law thinking it was my husband, woman tells court
A trader, Mrs Kuditat Ajayi,52, told an Igando Customary Court that she slept with her brother-in-law because she thought he was her husband.
Ajayi’s husband, Akande, is seeking the dissolution of their 35-year-old marriage, accusing her of infidelity.
I was in bed in the night when my husband’s younger brother came to the house my husband rented for me.
“I thought it was my husband who normally come to the house at that particular time between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. to play and sleep with me.
“It was after he finished making love to me that I realised that he was not my husband.
“When I queried him, he claimed that my husband had traveled that was why he came to have sex with me.
“I reported the case to my brother’s wife, who advised me not to tell my brother so that peace can reign in the family.”
The respondent said that her husband treats the children of the other wives better than hers.
The mother of four denied being fetish as claimed by husband.
Ajayi prayed the court not to grant her husband’s wish for the dissolution of their marriage that she still love him.
The petitioner, Akande, approached the court to terminate his 35-year-old marriage accusing wife of infidelity.
He said that his wife was wayward and adulterous that her man friend was claiming paternity of one of their children.
“When I married her, I rented an apartment for her because I have other wives and I don’t want them to live together.
“I started hearing from people in the area that my wife was having affair with a man, initially I ignored it until her lover came claiming ownership of one of my children.
“The man eventually came to the house but I refused to open the door for him.
“When I questioned my wife, she confessed that the man slept with her but it did not result in pregnancy.”
The 71-year-old businessman said that his wife was fetish.
“I once caught her burying something in my compound, I accosted her and tried to remove what she buried there but I could not.
“I went out before I returned, she had cemented the place.”
He begged the court to end the marriage that he was no longer interested that the love he once had for her had faded.
The president of the court, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, urged the two parties to maintain peace and adjourned the case until Aug.22 for judgment.

A woman that has children for her husband and had married him before a house is built has the right to live in the house with her children even after divorce under the provisions of the Married Woman Property Act 1882, a court held on Friday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The belief that patriarchy is so entrenched in the Nigerian system and women have no rights even under the law has been proved to be an erroneous one, majorly propounded by those ignorant of the rights provided under the law, the court said in a landmark judgement.
The provisions of the *Married Woman Property Act 1882* formed the basis of the pronouncement of the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Munta Abimbola, on Friday in a property suit between a divorced couple, Toyin Arajulu, formerly known as Mrs Toyin James and her former husband, Mr James Monday.
The court held that *“a husband who marries a wife and builds a house during the pendency of the marriage stands the risk of losing that house if he later divorces the woman who had children for him unless such woman, of her own volition, leaves the matrimonial home.”*
Justice Abimbola, while ruling on the matter, emphasised what is known in law as the *“palm tree justice,”* which indicates that it does not matter in whose name the property stands or who pays what (on the property) and in what proportion as determination of such matters transcends all rights, legal or even equitable, but simply what order is fair and just in the circumstances of the case, citing the case of *Home Vs Home (1962) 1 WLR 1124 at 1128.S 17 Married Woman Property Act 1882*, which is a statute of general application.
Toyin Arajulu had filed the suit against her ex-husband, Monday James, who she married under Native Law and Customs in 1997 and for whom she had four children.
She claimed that while she was married to him, they had put resources together and built two flats of three bedrooms at Ayedun in Akure, Ondo State and procured a plot of land at No 7, Fadana Biala Estate, Olodo, Ibadan, where they built a three-bedroom flat and a storey building which is still under construction before their divorce in July 2014.
She averred that before the divorce, her husband had moved out of their matrimonial home in Olodo but only came constantly to try to forcibly eject her and the children, usually accompanied by thugs who attacked her and her children.
She added that on August 15, 2014, one of her children, Bidemi James, was wounded in one of the episodes of attempted violent eviction and the sum of N530,000 from her business taken by her ex-husband and his accomplices.
She claimed that he had concluded plans to sell off the joint property without her consent and had continued to victimise her and the children, asking the court for a declaration that the property is jointly owned by the two of them and an order that the landed property with the three-bedroom flat and uncompleted storey building be sold and proceeds divided equally between them and an order of perpetual injunction restraining James from harassing her and the children.
In his counter claim and defence, the ex-husband stated that when he bought and constructed the Akure property, his wife was a full housewife and had no contribution to the project, adding that the situation was the same for the Ibadan property as his wife only signed as a witness as she had no job and only depended on what he gave her to take care of the children when he travelled out of the country.
According to him, she was only trying to fraudulently take over his property, adding that her claims were vexatious, gold digging and an abuse of court process.
He also asked the court to declare that the receipts of purchase his ex-wife presented were forged and that she should vacate possession of the property which she had refused to give up despite service of statutory seven days owner’s intention to recover possession and perpetual injunction restraining her from occupying the building.
*HELD*
Justice Abimbola, while ruling on the case, held that the landed property at No 7, Fadana Biala Estate, Olodo, Ibadan, together with the three-bedroom flat and uncompleted storey building is jointly owned by the two.
On the second relief that both buildings be sold as requested by Toyin, Justice Abimbola held that, *“I will not give such orders in respect of the two buildings. Particularly, Section 17 Married Women Law of Oyo state Cap 83, Laws of Oyo state 2000 gives a court the discretion as it thinks fit on the issues of title of possession to property.*
*“Section 18 also enjoins the court to treat such property as a joint property if the issue has to do with the maintenance of a matrimonial home.*
*" My order to this effect is that the completed three-bedroom flat on the land be retained as the matrimonial property and the four children are entitled as beneficial owners by way of a resulting trust created for them by their parents. The mother, as long as she remains unmarried, is directed to be in possession undisturbed in order to take care of her children.*
*"The uncompleted storey building is ordered to be sold by both parties and the proceeds divided in equal share. The half share shall go to the wife for the maintenance of the children. A divorced wife has no business being maintained,”*
Justice Abimbola held.
The court also restrained James from harassing Toyin any further or disturbing the quiet possession of the property by her and the children, holding that, *“the rationale is that a husband who marries a wife and builds a house during the pendency of the marriage stands the risk of losing that house if he later divorces the woman who had children for him unless such woman, of her own volition, leaves the matrimonial home.*
*Also, a divorced woman is not entitled to any maintenance allowance but maintenance of the children by way of settlement.”*
