NIGERIA'S YOUNGEST REIGNING KING BAGS LAW DEGREE FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM 

His Royal Majesty, Obi Chukwuka Noah Akaeze 1, Agbogidi, the Obi of Ubulu-Uku has reportedly bagged his first degree  in  Law from the famous University of Exeter, United Kingdom.




Obi Chukwuka Noah Akaeze, the youngest Obi of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom in Aniocha South Council of Delta State has since attracted attention, not only for his age, but also bearing in mind the circumstances surrounding the death of his father, Obi Edward Ofulue III, last year.

Although he is relatively young, but he is endowed with and already exuding the wisdom and intelligence of an adult.




The youngest monarch in Delta State received the Staff of Office on Monday, September 5, 2016 by the state government and it was celebration and fanfare for a kingdom known for cultural values.

Obi Akaeze 1 After his installment, appealled to his subjects for their support to make the kingdom grow, assuring that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.

He added that his kingdom would continue to support the Okowa administration to attract the needed development to the kingdom.

PRISON WARDEN SLAPS LAWYER...

There was a mild drama at the Osun State High Court, Osogbo, on Tuesday, as a prison warden slapped a lawyer, Mr. Kasiamobi Eze Ngwoke, Blueprint reports.
According to an eye witness, the prison official had slapped one of the inmates who was slow in entering the prison van after the court proceedings.
It was gathered that the lawyer who was apparently not happy with the way the inmate was treated, approached the warden to educate them that the inmate has not been convicted and his personal liberty should be respected.
Eye witness account revealed that the inmate is a client of Mr. Ngwoke.

The prison warden who was said to be unhappy with the manner of approach of the lawyer slapped him and threatened to shoot him.



The Magistrate, Mrs. Modupe Awodele, who was watching the drama from the court summoned the lawyer and the prison officials.



The Magistrate was said to have cautioned the prison officials that they have no right to maltreat or assault an accused, let alone a lawyer.

The Magistrate was said to have directed the lawyer to take appropriate legal action against the prison officials.
Speaking with our correspondent, Ngwoke said, “the prison officials particularly Fakorede A.S., slapped me when I went to them to confirm why they slapped my client.
He said he was already taking action against the prison warden when he was contacted on phone.
Efforts to get reaction of the prison warden proved futile as non of the officials contacted was willing to comment on the issue.

I slept with my brother-in-law thinking it was my husband, woman tells court

A trader, Mrs Kuditat Ajayi,52, told an Igando Customary Court that she slept with her brother-in-law because she thought he was her husband.
Ajayi’s husband, Akande, is seeking the dissolution of their 35-year-old marriage, accusing her of infidelity.

I was in bed in the night when my husband’s younger brother came to the house my husband rented for me.
“I thought it was my husband who normally come to the house at that particular time between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. to play and sleep with me.
“It was after he finished making love to me that I realised that he was not my husband.
“When I queried him, he claimed that my husband had traveled that was why he came to have sex with me.
“I reported the case to my brother’s wife, who advised me not to tell my brother so that peace can reign in the family.”
The respondent said that her husband treats the children of the other wives better than hers.
The mother of four denied being fetish as claimed by husband.
Ajayi prayed the court not to grant her husband’s wish for the dissolution of their marriage that she still love him.
The petitioner, Akande, approached the court to terminate his 35-year-old marriage accusing wife of infidelity.
He said that his wife was wayward and adulterous that her man friend was claiming paternity of one of their children.
“When I married her, I rented an apartment for her because I have other wives and I don’t want them to live together.



“I started hearing from people in the area that my wife was having affair with a man, initially I ignored it until her lover came claiming ownership of one of my children.
“The man eventually came to the house but I refused to open the door for him.
“When I questioned my wife, she confessed that the man slept with her but it did not result in pregnancy.”
The 71-year-old businessman said that his wife was fetish.
“I once caught her burying something in my compound, I accosted her and tried to remove what she buried there but I could not.
“I went out before I returned, she had cemented the place.”
He begged the court to end the marriage that he was no longer interested that the love he once had for her had faded.
The president of the court, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, urged the two parties to maintain peace and adjourned the case until Aug.22 for judgment.

INTERNET FRAUDSTER BAGS 35YRS IN JAIL

Justice M. Abdulgafar of a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Tuesday 2019, convicted and sentenced an internet fraudster, Ajayi Temitope Charles to 35 years in Prison without an option of fine.


Charles was first arraigned by the EFCC, on March 13, 2019 for engaging in internet fraud.

He had pleaded "not guilty" to the charges, prompting the commencement of his trial. However, at the end of the trial, Justice Abdulgafar ruled that the EFCC proved its case against him "beyond reason doubt".










The trial judge held that: "the evidence of PW1, Olamide Sadiq was left unchallenged by the defendant, all the chats and text messages were printed from his email address in his presence"



Thereafter, Justice Abdulgafar pronounced him guilty as charged and sentenced him to Seven (7) years in Prison on each of the five Counts. The sentence is to run concurrently.
